pet emergency careOur emergency hours have changed.

Please note the following information in the time of an emergency.

If your pet has an emergency during normal operating hours, call us right away at (716) 664-4204.

For our current clients, meaning we have seen your pet within the past year, we have a new schedule for our after-hour care:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Friday– 6pm-8pm
  • Thursday – 4pm-8pm

After 8pm on Monday and Tuesday, after 8pm on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, after 2 pm on Saturdays through 8am Monday morning, and on all major holidays (Easter, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve) we refer emergencies to the following two emergency hospitals:

  • Northwest PA Pet Emergency Center
    429 W. 38th St.
    Erie, PA 16508
  • Orchard Park Veterinary Medical Center
    3930 North Buffalo Rd.
    Orchard Park, NY 14127
    (716) 662-6660

These hospitals offer excellent care with a complete staff and skilled emergency veterinarian on the premises all night long and on holidays. We trust them to help you and your pet in a time of crisis.

Why aren’t we available 24 hours a day at Jamestown Veterinary Hospital?

When your pet has an urgent medical problem or emergency, we are here to help Monday through Saturdays during regular office hours. We take emergency calls for established patients during our scheduled times listed above.

We have changed our emergency schedule because we found that during the night, we cannot equal the quality of care that we strive to deliver during the day. We feel that you and your pet should have the most optimal care available if an emergency should occur. Since the closest emergency center is opened Monday-Friday 8pm to 8am and on Saturday 2pm through Monday at 8am, our doctors will be available at the times listed below to answer any questions or give your pet the medical attention they may need in the meantime.

We appreciate your understanding, and we will continue to provide the level of care you have come to expect and trust.
